Central grants Aid to Mizoram for Rural Drinking water supply programme

New Delhi : The Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned Rs. 6.00 lakh to the State Government of Mizoram as first instalment of funds for setting up of 3 District Water Testing Laboratories at Serchhip, Saiha and Kolasib districts in the State at the total approved cost of Rs.12.00 lakh @ Rs.4.00 lakh under the Centrally sponsored Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (Normal) of Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission, during the year 2007-08.
The release is subject to the terms and condition mentioned in the Technical Sanctions issued to State government from time to time. It is under Plan expenditure and should be used for the purpose specified. Diversion of funds is not allowed. The monthly/ quarterly reports are also required to be submitted along with the utilization certificate/ Audited expenditure to the Mission.
States are delegated powers for management of Rural Water Supply Schemes through the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
