Aizawl, June 13 (UNI) The North-East Region Finance Services Ltd (NEREFS) is all set to be known throughout the country as ‘Zoram National Bank’.
”Even though NEREFS had been qualified by RBI to be a nationalised bank, I have rejected the offer to give some more time for more consolidated establishment,” said Executive Director Ms Lalremsiami.
”By the time it becomes one of the nationalised banks, NEREFS will be known as Zoram National Bank,” added Ms Lalremsiami at the opening of NEREFS new office here last evening.
Founded by Ms Lalremsiami, her husband and Managing Director James Lalrawngbawla, NEREFS’ five branches are in Arunachal Pradesh, two each in New Delhi, Mizoram Kolasib and Aizawl and one each in Dehradun, Nainital, Guwahati, Shillong, Imphal and Churachandpur.

Note: The official website of NEREFS mentioned that the co-founders are Shri K. James Lalrongbawl and Mrs Lal Remsiem, notice the names – they are in Hmar – Mizo names unlike other media sources have claimed with ‘a’ and ‘i’ endings…
