Gujarat ex-minister owns up responsibility for Godhra riots

August 14 - Govardhan Zadaphia, Minister of State for Home in Gujarat during the Godhra riots, now a suspended member of the Bhartiya Janta Party, owns up moral responsibility for the mass killing in the riots. He said, he was taking orders from Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Zadaphia said this while talking to the media at at Bhavnagar, where he addressed a farmer’s rally on Monday. Zadaphia, a one time close associate and trusted aide of the Narendra Modi, was trying to make a point against the Chief Minister.
