By admin • Apr 10th, 2008 • Category: FYI onlyAre you bothered by a painless lump in your mouth or inner lips? Are you wondering if it could be a Cancer? Perhaps it is just Mucocele, a very common lump mostly formed on the surface of your inner lower lip. It may not be a cancer.
I will post up the picture I’ve taken soon. It will start like a very small filled with white fluid, it is usually nump - meaning you don’t feel pain touching it, but if it grows bigger it can become troublesome as it keeps rubbing your teeth each time you move your mouth or lips.
Will Mucocele go away naturally?
Yes and No.
Yes, Some people said it goes away with time; only few have reported that it goes away naturally.
No, many people said it doesn’t go away and it is too bothersome that they consulted doctors who removed them surgically.
Alternate names identified so far: mucous cyst, Mucocele; Mucous retention cyst, Ranula, Epulis, etc.

We recommend you to leave as it is if it doesn’t bother you at all. If the mucocele is small, you may just want to wait and see how it turns out after few weeks.

It is a small, minor surgery however all surgeries are painful but this one could be among the least painful surgeries.
Will it come back after removing?
Some reported that it comes back some said it doesn’t. So, don’t bother too much unless it comes back.
