Khonumthung News - To break the monopoly of a trade union in Mizoram in transporting goods from Burma to India's northeast state, locals in Zokhawthar village halted a procession of trucks heading to pick up cargo from the neighbouring country. Full story

Six decades after India’s independence, the Chakmas have turned into refugees within and without. Bengali settlers in Bangladesh displaced them from their original home — the Chittagong Hill Tracts. They now survive in segregated groups under trying circumstances in Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
